We the undersigned believe in Olympic Games ancient bases and baron Pierre de Coubertin idea. We can not accept breaking human rights and hypocrisy of modern times – which allows to organize second OG in XXI century in country in which there is no democracy. Russia’s got a notorious reputations of dealing with dictatorships around the world. This must change. We urge decision-makers to treat observance of the human rights as the core of our civilization. We demand: • that Olympic Movement (IOC, OCOGs, NOCs, Ifs, athletes and fans) will influence on The Olympic Family to withdraw the rights to host the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi. If it is inefficient, we will call on the international community to boycott OG in Russia. That decision-makers, journalists, human rights organizations and volunteers will pay special attention to Russia; • that Worldwide Olympic Partners, Sochi 2014 Partners, other sponsors and entrepreneurs investing in Russia will take into consideration reasons which induce us to these kind of action or we will start boycotting their products. • that politicians would not been taking part in official OG ceremonies; • that VIPs (politician, actress, culture people e.g.) and celebrities will show their objections to behavior of Russian government; • from the world community to act as to prevent the destruction of the precious Caucasian nature. As the cold winter months set in, Russia has renewed threats to cut off gas to Europe if Ukraine begins to illegally siphon supplies. In a statement on Wednesday, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said that theft of unpaid energy resources would result in a supply cut for the rest of the continent, which receives much of its gas through pipelines crossing Ukrainian territory. “If they pay us for supplies for domestic consumption, they’ll get them,” he said. “If they don’t pay…they won’t get them. If they don’t get them, likely, there will be siphoning from the export pipeline,” in which case the supply would be cut entirely. |
